Alpe d'HuZes
Throwing the towel in is not an option!
‘Keeping the memory alive’ is a slogan that has recently become an essential part of my daily life. Since September 2018 I’m working at Funeral Products, a company which, as a wholesaler of memorial items, gives a deeper meaning to this slogan: offering friends and families a beautiful, tangible memory of their departed loved one. But what is my own personal reason for participating in the 'Alpe d'HuZes' event for the third time? Remembrance! Twenty years ago I lost my mother to cancer. It left a void that is almost impossible to fill, a permanent scar. So what better way to keep the memory of our loved ones alive than to raise money for KWF, the Dutch Cancer Society? Breaking away from the daily routines and spending a week in the French Alps with thousands of other people, all with the same goal: to raise funds for cancer research! All donations to 'Alpe d'HuZes' go entirely to the research of cancer and to helping improve quality of life for cancer patients. Isn’t it amazing that we can give so many people, who are battling this illness right now, a chance on a better future? Therefore, I would like to ask you: will you help aswell? |
